Itinerary

Day 1. Kata Tjuta (Olgas), Uluru Sunset
Welcomed on arrival at Ayers Rock Airport and transferred to Ayers Rock Resort. The remainder of the day is free for you to settle in or undertake optional activities. Tonight you might like to join the 'Sounds of Silence' and dine under the stars in a stunning desert setting (additional cost).
Two Night Stay: Ayers Rock Resort, choice of hotel.


Day 2. Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta (Olgas)
Rise early and enjoy a complimentary cup of tea or coffee while watching Uluru at sunrise. Admire the festival of colour as the first light of the new day strikes this World Heritage-listed monolith. Continue to the base of Uluru for the guided Mala Walk, seeing Aboriginal rock art, caves and visiting sacred sites, including Kantju Gorge. This afternoon, travel to the rocky domes of Kata Tjuta that dominate the western skyline. Follow the natural creek bed into majestic Olga Gorge. Late in the afternoon, return to a vantage point near Uluru. Wine is served as the sun sinks below the desert plain, casting Uluru in an array of ever-changing colours.

Day 3. Kings Canyon, Watarrka National Park
Travel to Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park.

Day 4. Kings Canyon Walk, Alice Springs
Take a guided walk to the rim of Kings Canyon, enjoying panoramic views of the towering orange walls. The walk also takes you through the formation of the 'Lost City' and down to the 'Garden of Eden' waterhole. An alternative nature walk deep into the canyon is also available. Depart for Alice Springs, stopping en route at Kings Creek Station to learn about life on an Outback cattle station.

Day 5. West MacDonnells, Town Tour
Travel to West MacDonnell National Park and stop at Simpsons Gap and Angkerle (Standley Chasm). Return to Alice Springs this afternoon and tour the highlights of this remote township. (L)

Day 6. Alice Springs
Transfer to the airport or to the railway station.
