SIGHTSEEING HIGHLIGHTS

Day 1. Ayers Rock Resort, Kata Tjuta (Olgas), Olga Gorge, Sunset Viewing and Drinks
Flights to arrive prior to 1.00 p.m. Welcomed on arrival for transfer to your hotel. Early in the afternoon, travel to Kata Tjuta and walk between the giant domes into Olga Gorge. Late in the afternoon, stop at sunset strip and enjoy a glass of wine as you watch the colour changes of Uluru at sunset.

Day 2. Uluru Sunrise and Tour, Kings Canyon
Sip champagne and view Uluru in the first light of the day, then take a guided walk to Mutitjulu waterhole. See rock art and hear the legends of Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming). You may substitute this portion of touring to climb Uluru. Learn about the geology and flora of the regions on the Mala Walk, and visit sacred Kantju Gorge. Call in to the Cultural Centre and Maruku Arts and Craft Cooperative, and this afternoon, depart for Kings Canyon Resort in Watarrka National Park, stopping en route at Kings Creek Station, a cattle station which also herds wild camels.

Day 3. Kings Canyon Rim Walk, Alice Springs
An early morning guided walk to the rim of Kings Canyon and through the rock formations of the 'Lost City' and lush 'Garden of Eden' (good supportive footwear, hat and water are essential - the walk takes around three hours and requires a reasonable degree of fitness). An alternative easy walk along the canyon floor is also available. Continue to Alice Springs. Accommodation Alice Springs for 2 nights, choice of hotel.
Day 4. West MacDonnell Ranges, Angkerle (Standley Chasm), Alice Springs Tour
Tour the West MacDonnell Ranges with a visit to Simpsons Gap and Angkerle, a spectacular five metre break in the range. Returning to Alice Springs, take in the sights on a town tour including the historic Telegraph Station, views of the township from atop Anzac Hill and visits to the famous School of the Air and Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Day 5. Alice Springs
Free morning. Transfer to airport or to join The Ghan.
