Itinerary

 

Day 1. Alice Springs Town Tour
Welcomed on arrival in Alice Springs by midday for transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, enjoy a town tour of 'The Alice', including the historic Telegraph Station. See the generally dry Todd River 'running' through town. Take in panoramic views over the township and of the West MacDonnell Ranges from atop Anzac Hill. Visit the School of the Air and the base of the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Day 2. Camel Farm, Mt Conner, Ayers Rock Resort,
Departing 'The Alice' for Uluru (Ayers Rock), stop at the Outback Camel Farm and perhaps ride on a camel (own expense). View the Mt Conner mesa in the distance before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. Tonight, experience the 'Sounds of Silence' as you dine on the finest cuisine in the solitude of the desert. Watching the sunset, listen to the haunting tones of the didgeridoo and later, enjoy a guided astronomy tour of the spectacular night sky.

Day 3. Uluru, Kata Tjuta (Olgas)
Witness Uluru at sunrise while enjoying a revitalising tea or coffee. Walk to the waterhole of Mutitjulu, a former hunting ground and sacred site. Join the fascinating Mala Walk, your guide explaining the ancient rock art and significance of features in the landscape. Journey to Kata Tjuta and a walk into Olga Gorge. Return to Uluru for complimentary drinks at sunset.

 

Day 4. Ayers Rock Resort, Kings Canyon
The morning is at leisure to enjoy the resort's facilities or perhaps undertake an exciting optional activity. Travel through the vast desertscape to Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park.

Day 5. Kings Canyon Rim Walk, Alice Springs
Enjoy a guided walk to the rim of Kings Canyon for spectacular views or perhaps take an easier walk along the canyon floor. This afternoon visit an Outback cattle station and see kangaroos. Arrive in Alice Springs at approximately 6.30 p.m.
