Day 1. Alice Springs - Town Tour
Welcomed on arrival Alice Springs Airport for transfer to hotel. This afternoon, tour the sights including the historic Telegraph Station, views of the township from Anzac Hill and visits to School of the Air and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Overnight: Alice Springs Resort for 2 nights (budget option stay Frontier Oasis).
Day 2 West MacDonnell Ranges - Standley Chasm - Desert Park
Tour the picturesque West MacDonnell Ranges this morning with a visit to Simpsons Gap and Standley Chasm, a spectacular 9 metre break in the Range blazing red with colour. Returning to Alice Springs, visit the unique Desert Park and explore three different Australian desert habitats, their plants and animals, through a variety of interactive displays. Remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 3. Camel Farm - Ayers Rock Resort - Olgas - Sunset Drinks
Crossing the dry river bed of the Finke River, visit Noel Fullerton's Camel Farm then through the huge cattle stations of Mt. Ebenezer and Curtin Springs. Stop to view the Mt. Conner mesa, remnant of the glacial era in the distance. Arrive Ayers Rock Resort and check-in to your hotel. This afternoon tour to Kata Tjuta (Olgas), 36 rocky domes dominating the western skyline of the park. Take a walk into majestic Olga Gorge where some of the plants you will see are rare and only found in and around these rock formations. As the sun sets early evening, watch the everchanging colours of Uluru (Ayers Rock) as you enjoy a glass of wine with our compliments. Overnight: Ayers Rock Resort - choice of accommodation.
Day 4. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park - Sunrise Viewing - Ayers Rock - Base Tour - Mala Walk
Enter Uluru National Park for sunrise viewing over Ayers Rock, followed by a guided walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole. The more energetic may substitute this portion of touring to climb Ayers Rock. Continue along the Mala Walk to learn the story of the Mala (Hare Wallaby) people who lived at Uluru. See their many painted caves and receive an insight of ancient aboriginal traditions. Tour around the base of Uluru, see the Tapudji (Little Ayers Rock). Visit the Cultural Centre and Maruku Arts and Craft Co-operative for an opportunity to see aboriginal artists at work and to purchase original artifacts. Afternoon transfer to Ayers Rock Airport.
