Itinerary

 

Day 1. Alice Springs Town Tour
Welcomed on arrival at Alice Springs Airport by midday for transfer to your hotel. This afternoon take a town tour and explore the highlights of 'The Alice'.
Three Night Stay: Alice Springs, choice of hotel.
 

Day 2. West MacDonnell Ranges
Tour the West MacDonnell Ranges where there is time to wander among the formations of Simpsons Gap and Angkerle (Standley Chasm). Visit the acclaimed Desert Park to learn about Australian desert habitats, and the plants and animals that call them home. (L)

 

Day 3. Palm Valley 4-Wheel Drive Adventure
Today head west to Finke Gorge National Park and Palm Valley. This oasis is renowned for its Red Cabbage Palms (Livistona mariae) which line the creek bed. There's time to explore Cycad Gorge, climb to the top of the valley or just relax in this paradise-like area. Continue to Kalamanga Lookout for views over the natural amphitheatre. Visit the historic Hermannsburg settlement, including the interesting Lutheran Mission and the local art gallery. (L)

 

Day 4. Kata Tjuta (Olgas), Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Depart Alice Springs, visiting a camel farm and viewing Mt Conner before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. This afternoon, travel to Kata Tjuta, where the cluster of 36 rock domes dominates the landscape. Take a walk following the natural creek bed deep into Olga Gorge. Late in the afternoon, travel to Uluru and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine at sunset.

Day 5. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
Rise early to return to Uluru for a tea or coffee at sunrise before taking a guided walk to Mutitjulu, a permanent waterhole at the base of Uluru. You have the option of replacing sunrise and the walk with a climb of Uluru. Later, join the Mala Walk to see ancient rock art and sacred sites. This afternoon depart for the Outback township of Alice Springs.

Day 6. Alice Springs
