Day 1. Alice Springs - Town Tour
Welcomed on arrival Alice Springs Airport for transfer to your hotel. This
afternoon, tour the sights including the historic Telegraph Station, views of
the township from Anzac Hill and visits to School of the Air and the Royal
flying Doctor Service. Overnight: Alice Springs Resort (budget option stay
Frontier Oasis).
Day 2. Camel Farm - Ayers Rock Resort - Kata Tjuta (Olgas) - Sunset Drinks
Travel through the MacDonnell and James Ranges, crossing the dry river bed of
the Finke River to visit Noel Fullerton's Camel Farm. View Mt. Conner in the
distance as you arrive Ayers Rock Resort and check-in to your hotel. This
afternoon tour to Kata Tjuta (Olgas). Take a walk into majestic Olga Gorge,
following the natural creek which flows between two of the domes. Stop at sunset
strip and enjoy a glass of wine with our compliments as you watch the
everchanging colours of Uluru (Ayers Rock) at sunset. Overnight: Ayers Rock
Resort - choice of hotel.
Day 3. Sunrise - Base Tour - Mutitjulu Waterhole - Mala Walk - Cultural
Centre - Alice Springs
Enter Uluru National Park for sunrise viewing over Ayers Rock, followed by a
guided walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole. See ancient cave paintings, and learn about
the aboriginal legends of Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming). The more energetic
may substitute this portion of touring to climb Ayers Rock. Learn about the
geology of Uluru, the flora of the region as you continue along the Mala Walk.
Tour around the base of Uluru, see the Tapudji (Little Ayers Rock) and many of
the geographic features linked to Anangu mythology. Visit the Cultural Centre
and Maruku Arts and Craft Co-operative for an opportunity to see aboriginal
artists at work and to purchase original artifacts. This afternoon depart Ayers
Rock for Alice Springs.
Overnight: Alice Springs Resort (budget option stay Frontier Oasis).
Morning at leisure. You might like to take a short walk to the shopping mall or
perhaps visit the unique Desert Park where you can explore three different
Australian desert habitats, their plants and animals (own expense). Afternoon
transfer to Alice Springs Airport.
