Join us for the short journey to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, renowned as the "World's Most Beautiful Rainforest Experience". Glide over the rainforest canopy and take advantage of the two stops en router to enjoy a walk through the rainforest, surrounded by an amazing diversity of plants, animals and birdlife. A visit to the CSIRO Interpretative Centre and views of Barron Falls are memories you will keep forever.
Once in Kuranda there is a myriad of attractions to enjoy. You may wish to spend your time leisurely wandering through the village.
Escape to the award winning Rainforestation Nature Park. Relax over a delicious, tropical BBQ lunch featuring local tropical salads and fresh fruits.
Be entertained by the renowned Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers, as you learn of their legends and culture. The Rainforest Amphitheatre provides a naturally beautiful backdrop for the Pamagirri Corroboree. The rainforest serves as the theatre walls and the sounds of the forest provide accompaniment to the haunting sounds of the Didgeridoo and clap sticks.
Be escorted on the Dreamtime Walk and try your hand at boomerang throwing. Join the amphibious Army Duck for your journey deep into the rainforest before leaving the road and cruising on an inland lake.
Take time to visit the Koala and Wildlife Park. Here you will see Australian reptiles including crocodiles, snakes, goannas and turtles. In the park are free roaming Agile wallabies and you can handfeed the friendly Grey Kangaroos. Have your photo taken with a cuddly Koala! (optional cost).
You will then be transferred into the township of Kuranda in time to board the famous Kuranda Scenic Rail journey back to Cairns. The rail line winds its way down the Kuranda range through 15 tunnels and over 40 bridges, clinging to the rock face where one can almost touch the tumbling waterfalls.
